This part of the Echols line is still being researched as to how they connect to John & Mary CAVE Echols. We do not yet know the father of Elizabeth. Researchers show him born in VA and dying abt. 1837 in Alabama. The mother is also Elizabeth, last name unknown, b. between 1781-1790 & died bef 1850 in Alabama. Their other known children are:

I must admit I have had no success at determining who this man is. He may the the John B Eccles buried at Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile, Mobile, AL, but how he fits in our lineage is unknown at present.

Dicey was first marred to Armstead Marrell ECHOLS. Her maiden name was THORNTON. Armsted is the S/O John ECHOLS & Nancy MARRELL. Dicey is the D/O Linsey THORNTON & at present unknown mother. She next married Charles GOOLSBY and lastly married Unknown SEYMOUR.

Marriage record shows his name as ECKLES. He is the s/o Benjamin Elijah ECHOLS & Elizabeth Frances COFER. Also married Mollie E JARRELL 21 Dec 1875 in Chambers County, AL. Name on this record shows as ECHOLS. Part of this line maintained the ECKLES spelling. His complete lineage is proving hard to trace. He leads up to Edward ECHOLS Sr (1745-1829) & Mary Jane MONTGOMERY (1749-1829). We have not yet found the parents of Edward or his connection to John & Mary CAVE Echols.

I'm starting to think that Campbell Lee is the same unidentified man listed in the 1850 census as Geo W C Echolls age 2 and in the 1860 census as Crawford Echols age 13. And that he is the son of Duncan Green Campbell and his wife Martha LEE. If you have deatils on these people please contact me. For more information on George W Crawford ECHOLS (?) click his name.

**From my research, the two men above are the sons on William J Echols (b. 1832 in Arkansas, d. 1858 Newnan, Coweta, Georgia, USA) & Emily C DUNCAN (b. 21 Oct 1838 in unknown, d. 11 Feb 1909 in Logan, Cullman, Alabama, USA. I have not been able to place William J in the family tree as decedents of John ECHOLS & Mary CAVE. Please contact me if you have details on this family.

He is the S/O Samuel Brame ECHOLS Sr & Sarah Cobb BOOKER. Two headstones exist at the cemetery both show name as E D J Echols - Military marker shows PVT CO I 30TH ALA INF - CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY. Both are buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Attalla, Etowah, Alabama, USA.

He is the S/O William Walter ECHOLS Sr & Rebecca Louise HARRIS; She is the D/O Charles Malone HOWARD & Catherine Rebecca SORSBY; Some show her middle name without the "e" but I believe, as the marriage record shows, it should be there. Claire is a female name while Clair has been throughout history a surname. I don't find that name in the families lineage.

He is the S/O Armstead Marrell ECHOLS & Dicey THORNTON; see Chambers County entry above for for more details on Dicey THORNTON Echols. 

Hattie Mae TEETERS is the D/O John TEETERS & Sarah HUDSON. Hattie was first married to Jackson BRIMER. Some researchers are using HUDSON, her mothers maiden name, as her maiden name, this is not correct. She was born TEETERS then married BRIMER then was married to ECHOLS. The marriage between Jackson BRIMER and Hattie (28 Oct 1886 in Sequatchie County, Tennessee, USA), she would have been 16 years old. She could not have been born HUDSON, married a TEETER then married BRIMER. I have not found the CHEEKS marriage record that obviously happened between BRIMER & ECHOLS. Hattie is buried at Midway United Methodist Cemetery in Adamsville, Jefferson, Alabama, USA and Armstead Thomas is buried at Crumly Chapel Cemetery in Forestdale, Jefferson, Alabama, USA.

Issac is the S/O Darius Jasper ECHOLS & Tabitha S WHITWORTH; Martha is the D/O Reuben Lindsey GOOLSBY & Elizabeth Catherine GROSS. Isaac is buried at Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery in Hueytown, Jefferson, Alabama, USA.

Other researchers are showing Isaac as the S/O John Jackson ECHOLS & Sarah REGAN, that is not correct. John & Sarah were married 1 Oct 1837 (he was 32 & she was 21) but Isaac was born in 1821. Sarah REGAN was born in 1816 - she was only 5 when Isaac was born.
