Echols Virtual Cemeteries

In an attempt to coalesce the Echols family into groupings to better track and trace your family members, I have created the "Echols Virtual Cemeteries" at FindaGrave.com containing links to Echols burials and their spouses. Currently more than 1400 memorials are cross linked at Find A Grave and it's growing as new discoveries are made or brought to my attention.

If you have information on our families burial places please let me know and I will add the memorials on Find A Grave, if they don't already exist, or link them to the virtual cemetery if they do. If you're not familiar with Find A Grave it is an invaluable resource to create a digital memorial of a loved one and best of all it's free. You can upload photographs and write biographies so our loved ones will be brought into the 21st century digital world.

If you notice mistakes on any of my memorials, you can tell by my name "Terry Echols" being listed as "Created by" or "Managed by" at the bottom of the individual's memorial, please let me know and I will promptly correct them.

To make searching a bit easier I have divided all the memorials into separate "virtual cemeteries" by state born. This only applies to those born with the surname Echols. All spouses are and will continue to be, lumped in the main "Echols & Spouses" virtual cemetery.

Names in all CAPS are birth surnames whether male or female on all of my work with the exception of Find A Grave. Surnames, or last names, for married women will show italicized. Unmarried women will show the complete name with no formatting, and nicknames appear in quote marks, see examples below.

    Just found your pages about the Echols/Eckles family and interested in contributing to the "Echols Virtual Cemetery".

    My wife is an Echols and we have collected much information back to Rayle, Wilkes,Georgia.

    I am a descendant of Peter A. Echols. I am seeking information on his wife or wives. Marriage records indicate he married Nancy Ann Markland in December of 1817 in NC. There is also a record of her death in that same month. She however is listed as the mother of one of his children born after that date. Either there is a second wife known as Nancy Allen Echols or these are the same women and the death certificate is for another Nancy Markland. Don Green greend0818@yahoo.com
