Some of our dates differ and possibly one wife. I have always FELT that I was one person away from the Echols-Cave family, but was not sure. I have William Echols being born in Union County, Illinois in 1803. I have seen the very old version of the Echols-Cave family, I believe I even have it in my documents.  William Came to Arkansas. His son George Boyd Echols is my 2X great grandfather. He is buried near my grandfather, William Lawrence Echols. My great grandfather, William Frederick Echols, is buried in another cemetery, nearby. William Echols apparently returned to Illinois, although I have not found any information after he left Arkansas. There is a great deal of information on my mother\u0026#39;s family, some to at least the 1400\u0026#39;s. I joined Ancestry to look for my Daddy\u0026#39;s family. I found John Echols on the National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims.  It matches well with the John born 1650- (the info given, died 1712, married in 1688 etc.)  It states birth location as England. So if this is accurate it confirms that he is the immigrant rather than his father.  I suppose whoever gave the info could have been mistaken. I am confused about whether the John Echols (born about 1650) is the first immigrant or as Terry suggested the son of an immigrant.  I found the name John Echols as a \u0026quot;pilgrim\u0026quot; on the National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims.  The information next to his name fits (born 1650, died 1712, married to Mary Cave 1688, etc.)  This would suggest to me that he was the immigrant.  Unless whoever gave that information was in error. My other question is I read that John was a \u0026quot;Quaker in poor standing\u0026quot; due to his fighting with the Indians.  Now I cannot find that source.  Can anyone confirm this- that we are talking about our John Echols?  Thanks for any help.  I am a descendant from his son William.
